10 Quick Tips on How to Take Care of Your Joints

Joint pain is an extremely common complaint among people of all age groups. Even children aren’t spared. The heavy books they carry on their backs and the bad studying posture is just enough to capture them in the clutches of excruciating joint pain.

Have you ever experienced a severe pain in your joints when you wake up in the morning or go for an evening walk? Then you are probably a victim of joint pain.

Take Care of Your Joints

However common this condition may be, its prevention is not impossible. Remember that it is never too late to take care of your joints. Here are some quick tips on how you can take care of your joints.

Drink Milk

Healthy joints directly imply healthy bones. This is why it is crucial to consume calcium in the right quantity. Calcium is found in milk, yogurt, cheese, and leafy vegetables. A study estimates that only 32% of US adults consume calcium in the desired quantity.

Expose yourself to Sun

Exposure to Vitamin D enhances our calcium absorption. Though it is found in many food items such as salmon, crimini mushrooms and milk, that is not enough. The good news is that when our skin absorbs sunshine, which is the most abundant source of Vitamin D, calcium is produced.

Getting some sun, especially in winters is extremely beneficial. It works as good as a Vitamin D supplement!

Maintain a healthy weight

An overweight body puts more stress on your joints, more than it can suffice. If you feel you are obese, shed down some weight.

Studies prove that a 10-15 weight loss in young people can considerably reduce the risk of osteoarthritis in later life. In fact, losing weight is not only good for your joints, but also for your overall health.

Adopt an anti-inflammatory diet

Food items rich in healthy fats and omega 3 fatty acids are good for your bones and joints. This means that you must consume lots of fruits and vegetables, nuts, whole grains, and fish.

Research reveals that around 26% of women and 18% of men are affected by arthritis. An anti-inflammatory diet can really be helpful to prevent this.

Watch your footwear

A footwear that is higher than 2 inches can cast extra stress on your knees. If it is absolutely necessary to wear heels to someplace, it is best if you wear comfortable and good running shoes during the journey and change into your heels upon reaching.

Build your muscles

If your muscles in the legs and abdomen area are strong, they can significantly protect your knees and back for a long time.

Building these muscles isn’t too hard. Just include some free weights, yoga, Pilates and resistance workouts such as squats, push-ups, and plank in your daily fitness regime.

Go for low-impact exercises

Experts suggest that low impact exercises can support your joints for a longer time. You can also mix some high impact sports such as tennis with some low-impact workouts such as yoga or swimming. They will help you strengthen your muscles without putting an incredible strain on them.

Try to avoid injuries

Of course, you must not be attracting injuries but still try to watch your steps and take some precautions so that it further reduces the chances of an injury. When you opt for a new workout style, do it slowly, gradually. In case you feel pain, back off. Your workout should make you more active and not induce discomfort.

Watch your water intake

The cartilage in our joints contains a thick liquid called synovial fluid which lubricates our joints and supports easy movement. It is primarily made up of water. If the water levels in your body are low, you are more susceptible to joint injury.

Lift things with caution

This is mostly for protecting your back. When you are lifting a heavy object, make sure to use your legs and not your back.

If your joints are making you scream and groan, don’t just ignore them. Act on it. Apart from these tips, you can also make use of some well-proven supplements like Artrovex gel.

Bonus Tip:  Try Artrovex

Artrovex is a soothing gel that is extremely beneficial in joint pain treatment. This cream is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which activate the natural regeneration process of our tissues. It increases our blood circulation and stimulates a series of anti-inflammatory processes to relieve your pain. It is also effective with cramps and muscle spasms.

Due to its absolutely natural ingredients and the absence of any side effects, Artrovex has become the choice of many.
